"He shewed himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty

Belived of God, as we linger at the Cross during the Passion season, let us sojourn to Joseph's tomb as well. There we find witnessess to the Risen Christ Jesus (possibly in this order).

~ Mary Magdalene - Mark 16:9 "He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He cast seven devils"

~ The other women - Matthew 28:8-10 "So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples"

~Simon Peter - Luke 24:34 "the Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon"

~The two men on the road to Emmaus- Mark 16:12 "After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country"

~Ten of the Apostles - John 20:19-24 "on the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them "Peace be with you" ... Now thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came"

~All eleven Apostles - John 20: 25-26 "Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you"

~Seven by the Sea of Tiberias - John 21:1 "After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias"

~More than 500 - 1 Corinthians 15:7 "then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles"

~ The eleven at the ascension - Acts 1:3,9 "He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proffs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God...and when he had said theses things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight"
